    Saxon Officer's Frack

It's been a while since I have posted something from my collection on the forum. So, here is a simple but lovely Frack to a Saxon Officer, probably Leutnant or Hauptmann.I enjoy these "plain" bars - no postwar commemorative medals or unofficial veteran awards, and no Third Reich era Hindenburg Cross.

Nice bar. Perhaps an NCO that was promoted to Leutnant.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'm sure this young Lt. wore his bar with pride on one or more formal occasions.

Here is my other Saxon Frack - I have shown it before. It's interesting given that is mounted against regulations - giving the Saxon Albert Order the higher position, even after 1934.

Those naughty Saxons (and the Bavarians as well) were good for that.

Yup, there is something to be said for these Kingdoms and their long standing traditions. Even decades after unification, they still saw themselves as individuals, apart from Prussia and the rest of the Duchies and Principalities.
