    War memorial 1916 footstool

    Hello,
Does anyone know anything about this more than it is a war memorial from 1916?
    Also interested in value

I don't think it's a footstool. It looks too high for that. Also, if it was a footstool, it would likely have a bottom rung joining the legs together for stability and support. More likely it's a small end table. It may be a one-off piece made as a gift for someone. It's a nice mix of Gothic Revival and Jugendstil with a bit of Black Forest style thrown in for good measure. It's well made mortise and tenon construction with dowel joints. It looks like Cherry wood. Whoever made it was a professional cabinet maker and excellent at hand-carving. It's also possible that the table was made earlier and the inscription added in 1916. Design-wise it's seems more 1890-early 1900s. It looks like a single board top which says 19th century to me, but which anyway adds value.

Just as a piece of furniture, I'd guess it would be worth 250-350 EUR, maybe more with the war connection.

    What are the dimensions?

That is small and short. So, maybe a footstool afterall, or just a small table. Whatever, it's really quite a nice piece, IMO.
