    Hungarian Red Cross-badge

    Hi guys!

Is there anyone of You, who knows for sure what exactly this is? I was told it's a badge for female Red Cross volunteers.

    Kind regards, Peter

    Hungarian Red Cross badge

A literal translation: Military Observer station.

Munkacs is a town in Hungary.

These badges were worn by the staff including the nurses, medical orderlies and other soldiers attached.

    A very nice badge.

Additional question: Is it pre or post 1918?

        Kind regards, Peter

          Peter,

          Pre 1918 .

Can you measure your badge for me please. I think I have the little sister to your badge.
          Mine is 13mm x 23 mm.

          Regards,
          Ian

Guys, here's one different I found on the web (volontary sisier). Also a "standard?" Red Cross, 48.09mm x 37.7mm.

                cheers

                  Hi Peter J.

                  Very nice items!
Unfotunately I don't know much about the history of these badges, but I love the quality of maker's in the monarchie-aera.

                  Kind regards, Peter
