Looks to me like an issue badge. I unfortunately got one of these years ago, and sold it ...this one may be a TR version to replace the original post ww1. I like it . Could you show close ups of the hinge and hook assembly's?

Here are the photos of the hardware. The badge's base metal is tombak (brass) when viewed under a loupe.

Talking with a few other folks, it turns out this one is unfortunately a fake that resembles 57 hardware, but still is not genuine.

It does indeed look like 57er period hardware and Deumers at that.....I have a possible Assmann from that period and a St u L pilots badge with similar hardware...they are not fakes but copies for veteran replacement purchase.
