I've been looking at this KO marked EKI and case on e-stand. Any comments on it? Is the cross and case original? Thank you in advance.... Harold

I believe the case was for a 1939 EK1. The KO cross is original.

The case is a late war piece (1916 + ) It has a paper inlay in the deckel, not
white silk as the early ones.

Any idea what could have caused all the marks in the lid lining?

All original in my opinion, and could well be a matched set. No opinion on the engraved name (not my field).
