    "KO" is "K&Q"?

    Hi all

    I've got a question you will surely know. I've read somewhere that mm "KO" in EK2 1914 is the same manufacturer as Keinz & Kleunzer (65). Is it true?

          the large numbers of KO around

          and documentation that klein & quencer delivered the larches number to GOK

          make it a plausible option in researches done by members of other forum's
          and authors of ek books


          however

          ws sw and other ek's are to be found just as much as KO marked ek's
          and the O instead of a Q in the KO mark makes a lot of people doubt that the KO mark is fore the firm of klein & quencer

                The KO problem is still open.

                Nearly 35 years ago, talking to a german dealer/researcher, he told that the "KO" is for "Kabinetts-Ordre", meaning that the piece was officially delivered from the maker to the General Ordens-Kommission, thus explaining the reason for being this mark quite common.

                I need to say that being just a talk, he didn't add any documentary proof of his explanation.

                In any case, assuming that "KO" could mean Klein & Quenzer, I don't think that a German producer would have continued to use a partly wrong mark to be struck on the decorations of its production.

                    Thats exactly what it is, KO is for Klein from Oberstein, because in the 14th era Idar and Oberstein where seperate small citys and become in the 30s to Idar-Oberstein.

                        We all don`t know if it is true or not.

                        But the Berlin papers say, that Klein delievered IC between the war.

                        So it looks like, that KO means Klein, Oberstein.
