    Overcoat Feldgrau

I am looking at a M1915 Universal feldgrau overcoat and it is stamped B A II 1916. The seller says it is Bayern and marked as such. I disagree and think it is Prussian because the Bayern stamp would be K B A II. Opinions?

    Paul,

A Bavarian overcoat would most likely not be marked KBAII. The "K" does not stand for Königlich, but rather Kriegs. Anyway, it is easy to tell which is which, because the Bavarians did not adopt the Prussian style Model 1915 overcoat. The pattern they adopted mimiced their Blusen in that the collar was the same material as the rest of the coat and not Resedagrün.

    Regards,

      Thanks

As I take a better look at the picture it does seem the the collar is a different color and material. I hope I can get this for a reasonable price. Thanks Chip
