medal bar with 1870-1914 repetition clasp

    Hi Guys,

would/could you be so kind and give me a rough estimate of the

present value of this unique medal bar ?

It had been checked and evaluated by 'forum experts' !!

The repetition clasp (Godet) is like the bar itself genuine and very rare !

    Thank you !

      Grüß dich Wolf!

It seems that the "clasp" to the IC 1870 is a (in my opinion) private purchased version with splinte (not the version of the GOK with schlaufe). The bar is a nice and original piece. I am not an expert of clasps, but i think it is OK, too.

In my opinion the bar has the value of 1200 - 1400 EUR. In oversea may be more.

        Hi römisch,

Why do you think the GOK versions had loopbacks (schlaufe)? In my opinion that's not true. Only private-purchased WHS had the loopback (and the piece shown in Sauerwald's famous article is not an award-type).

The WHS Wolf shows in not by Godet but by Wagner, is unmarked, and is an award-type in my opinion. I have handled this bar.

Here is the award-type, same type as Wolfe's.
        Best regards,
        Streptile

The from the GOK given pieces had a schlaufe not those little hooks.

But they had the problem, that the GOK pieces couldn`t add to a medal bar, so
the veterans bought pieces with hooks in the Ordenshandel (private purchased ones)

Till Nov. 1918 nearly 900 clasps were awarded.

          (Schubersky/Thamm OMM 5 Febr. 2000)

Bevor 1915 some wore both IC in the buttonhole.
