Iron Cross Purple Case

Hi gents,

I wanted to just confirm my latest addition. A nice purple velvet case for an EK1.

Is much known about these if they were military issued or private purchase, and if private purchase, were they wartime or post-war?

I am of the opinion these are awarded cases and early.

Anyone have a suggestion about which type of cross would fit in here. Since it's an early war case, I think I remember the KO marked pieces won't work and vaulted are private purchase, so that won't work.

So should I try to find a non-vaulted CD800, or square punch, or S-W, or another?

Some kind of flat, silver cross would go perfectly in there. A Wagner, Godet, S-W, We, of FR, etc. Something like this:
