    Interesting 1914 EK1

Never encountered this style fitting, or maker before. Anyone else seen one like it ?

Maker mark is M STUMPF DANZIG. There is a red felt disc which is visible on the obverse view but has been removed from the reverse views for clarity .

    Dear Gordon,

Ah, there´s the F, hard to find it. For a second I thought B. Stump was the maker!

    On a more serious note:

-I guess it is just the photo, but the second 1 of the date seems to overlap the 9!

-but it seems to be true that the outer lines of the cross arms do NOT form a perfect rectangle when "prolongued". I hope I make myself clear. Top horizontal line upper arm does not equal lower horizontal line lower arm, and left vertical line left arm does not equal right vertical line right arm. Is it just an illusion because the iron core is a bit loose and out of center/skipped?

EDITED: Now I saw you remark in the other thread that it was the scanner! Ok, one question less!

A cool looking cross indeed, hopefully not made in today´s Danzig!

    Cheers, Frank H.

      hmmmmm......

      Very interesting,indeed!

Gordon, are there any indicators that the hallmarks and disc may not be contemporary to the EK1 itself?

You always come up with the most fascinating variants. My compliments!

      best,
      e-

p.s. I'll try to find out something pertaining to M. Stumpf of Danzig. The name does ring a bell, albeit quite faintly....
