Have a question regarding the EKII and the Faithful service cross on the 5 medal bar. Why does the EKII have a dark patina yet the Faithful Service Cross has no dark patina? Anyone have any ideas as to why?

I would say the EKII being silver develops patina while the TR medal for sure is not silver or has a frosting applied

That makes sense after looking closely at the FSC it does have a frosted finish with just the edge of the cross polished silver. Thank you for pointing that out to me

I'm curious about the 2 place ribbon bar.... Is it original? the metal backing bits seem very shiny to me also has no markings on the reverse

From information from the seller Ivan this cross MVK3 was made by J. Leser. See no makers mark for the EKII

Received a nice KO EKII today from Valentino. Have bought several items from him. Here are the pics of the newest cross.





That makes 14 EKII's all different makers marks. Collecting EKII's can get habit forming LOL, one leads to two, then three, then 4, and so on

Still looking for four 6 inch length combatant WWI EKII ribbons. Does anyone know of the dealer or seller that has spare ribbons for sale? I have looked on ebay but they are about 90% fake or repro ribbons

Congratulations for this Medalbar. I believe the MVK is a Jacob Leser with Front Medallion Type Z2 and Reverse Medallion B.

Great aquisitions, Pzrwest! I like the Bavarian bar with "flower" backing. A bit unusual, but unique touch. Could it be the owner replaced the worn backing with piece of cloth he found in wife's sewing box?
