I don't believe that these are MG unit stickpins. I believe they refer to an MG armory or MG manufacturing location. I think Neustadt A/. HDT. u. Umgeb. refers to Neustadt (Haardt) und Umgebung in the Rheinland which is a district, not a military unit. Neustadt is the city. Haardt is the district in the city. Umgebung refers to the surrounding area. So, the "Neustadt district of Haardt and surrounding area."

In any case, they're very interesting.
