Any KuK Ribbon knowledge out there ?

Hi all, this tiny beauty fell down in my mail the other day.

I think its Signum Laudis in Silver , Bravery, Bravery, ? , Karl Truppen Kreuz
Hek, 1914.18 medal, and ? officers cross ?

it is only half-height, could anyone tell me something about this one ?
I wonder about the red ribbon and the last one, an merited officer ?
Major ? any info would be welcome !

Best wishes from Sweden waiting for winter weather !

Nice bar! Should be to an Austrian NCO, with the last ribbon being the Württemberg Silver Military Merit Medal. No. 4 should be a peacetime decoration, maybe a peacetime Signum Laudis.

    Regards

Actually, that last one is an Austrian long service decoration. The stripes are too wide for it to be the Württemberg decoration.

The top one is the Austrian, the bottom one is the Württemberg.

Even apart from that, if it were the Württemberg decoration, it would be on the other side of the Hindenburg Cross.

        Chris,
you're right! I jumped too quick on the Württemberg.

If I had to guess, I would say:

          1. Iron Cross of Merit with Crown on the ribbon of the Bravery Medal
          2. small or large Silver Bravery Medal
          3. small Bronze Bravery Medal
          4. Either (a) a non-combat Cross of Merit or (b) a 1908 jubilee cross for civil servants.
          5. Karl-Troop Cross
          6. Honor Cross for Combatants.
          7. Austrian WW1 Commemorative
          8. NCO's Long Service Cross

The Austrian WW1 Commemorative is redundant. Since it is after the Honor Cross for Combatants, it would be post-Anschluss, when technically I don't think it was even permitted, at least for serving soldiers.

#4 leads me to think a reserve NCO who was a peacetime civil servant and was called up for the war.

I was under the impression that the commemoratives for Austria, Hungary, and Bulgaria were all still permitted in the Third Reich. I've got one with a Hungarian commemorative that I know belonged to a soldier that served through the entirety of WWII.

The Hungarian and Bulgarian ones were definitely permitted. As far as I know, the Austrian was also permitted, but - for political reasons - comparatively unpopular. See our old thread:
