Cartridge Box / Bayern?

Gents,

this one came from a private household just recently.
Am I correct in assumning it is a Bavarian cartridge box for field artillery?
My guess is, it is pre 1908, from the late Reichsrevolver era.

Any hints are welcome.

Doubt it for Reichsrevolver; no compartmentalisation for cartridges and nothing like it in Harder's "Der Reichsrevolver und seiner Varianten."

I believe that it dates from the mid-19th century or even earlier.
