    Paperweight with iron cross 1870-71

This is my latest finding, the piece is golden bronze and weighs about 750 grams.
What you I like about this piece is that if you look closely you can see that the cross seems realized with a mold of a cross of Type "A".
I'd also like to do some research on the engraved name, you have any suggestions for me?
As always waiting for your comments and opinions.
    Best regards Alex:

Cool piece! I find no name to research. For me it says Aus metall eroberter franzozicher kanonen . Lovely to think its 3/4 kilograms of capture canons in there! Congrats.

I wonder if the base is made of something significant? Melted down Cannon, or other equipment?

            Cheers.

Sorry Otter76, I missed some of your meaning. I suppose great minds think alike, lol.

The words on the base read "made with metal / from captured / Frn. cannon / 1870-1871"

The internet has ruined me, I spend more time scanning what is written, rather then reading what is in front of me.

                  Cheers.
