    EK1 Meybauer

    I landed this cross today.

It seems to be marked 950. Opinions welcome

I have had 3 Meybauers with 950 hallmark.

... hard to say, there are 900 and 800 marks too.

Here it is, the pin has been bent as you can see (by its original owner?), I am not going to attempt to straighten it

Is it possible the pin was bent when the cross was pulled off the tunic by a souvenier hunter

                        all is possible ,,,,
jumping out of a burning plane ,,,,hooked on the fuselage somehow .

                        nazi's
SS execution unit ,,,ripped it of its uniform .

or he just fell from the stairs
the cross was damaged and he broke his neck

                        Aliens ,,,
he was abducted by Aliens and they did not know how to open it

depends on how exiting the story has to be ,,
before you going to sleep .

                        regards kay

                          Bent

That pin was bent on purpose. If the cross was caught on something the cloth would rip or the pin would break with the kind of force that bent it. The pin is very long and was probably bent for comfort at some time. Just how the pin is bent at a sharp angle and to one side as opposed to bowing in the middle says to me it was done for wear.

I would like to see it mounted on a uniform with the bend as is ,to test the theory.

DO NOT straighten it. You might damage the cross... an then
