Hi All,

I picked this up recently, mainly as a box for some of my medals. I now think it might be a WW1 'patriotic box' - is this the case? The eagle seems to be Austrian too? Are these items faked?

I have seen these before, There does not seem to be a great demand for them so I don't think they are being faked. They were used to store also anything. The top read "our iron time", I think.

I would add to what Paul said that the eagle is definately German. Fred

Yes the top inscription reads 'from the iron time'. I didn't expect it to be worth much as I bought it for a few quid, and the internet means EVERYONE knows the trune/market value of items these days, but it's somewhere appropriate to store my small WW1 collection...
