    First World War Postcards

Although not military uniform/equipment, I wanted to post these here for the forum's review.

I bought these old postcards a few years ago because I really liked the graphic designs and colors. The handwriting of the time certainly has more grace than what is common today - likely the result of different writing instruments.

The cursive handwriting style is in the old German type style called 'Kurrentschrift' used up to the 1920s when it began to be replaced with its modernized form called 'Sütterlinschrift' first instituted in schools in 1915.

Most WWI German Militärpassen have Kurrentschrift in them which sometimes makes them quite hard to decipher, even for Germans.

Interesting postcard from Kurpfalz 1916. It was written bevor the US entered to the war.
