Opinion sought in EKII 1870

Hi guys, I need your opinion in the following 1870 Iron Cross, since my knowledge is kind of limited. Cross is good or bad?

It's a authentic award type cross.
The core is really rusty and the frame has been polished but other
than that, I don't see any red flags.

Thank you Greg, the tick coat of rust or sediment was throwing me off.
What would a fair price could be for such a piece?

extremely repainted fore a start ,,, I would say ,,

remaining paint is filling up the space between the 1,8,7,0 numbers ..

far , far from what would be appropriate ..


awarded cross, ? hmm to me,,, replacement cross ,,1900 at best .

AWS ? A type ? nonetheless it could be a late one looking at the beading flaws .

I do not like the blurry details of the cores decorations ,,especially the crown is looking worse then what I saw so far.

I think the over painting is the reason

..hmmm , positive details on this cross .?

it had a hard life ..

I hope the price was good .
