According to that article the cross was instituted on 13 July 1934. It was awarded
          for combatants 6,202,883
          for non-combatants 1,120,449
          for widows 345,132
          for parents 372,950
          total 8,041,414
Just how many crosses were manufactured by the different makers is hard to say

            Indeed a good one.
Btw, I doubt they are making fakes of this cross btw.

You are wrong. You can find fakes of these coming out of China on ebay.

                Really? Didn't know that.
Real ones are so cheap, that I couldn't imagine they are faking them.
                Thanks for the info, Don

The seller does say that the HC is a repro on the ebay listing, so he's not trying to rip someone off, but what a buyer does with it is anyone's guess. But still seems silly to buy a repro of the HC over a real one is beyond me

Lol I wouldn't have thought that the hindenburg cross would be reproduced! What's the point. Haha

The point is that if it only costs you $00.03 to make and you sell it for $20 you are making money. In some parts of the world $20 is still alot of money.

The day you start buying things assuming that they are not faked you are in trouble.

There was a time when common awards were not faked but not anymore, so it's buyer beware!!! Before I buy anything I would get opinions from the experts here, better to be safe than sorry

Exactly. Labor costs in China are extremely cheap. The unit cost on these would indeed be in the cents.
