    Metal Question/German Language

    I'm having trouble translating the work "alpaka" from german to English. It describes a metal. Can someone assist? Thanks.

      No, "Alpaka" is a corruption of the trademarked name "Alpacca." Alpacca just means nickel silver, German Silver, or (to use another German word) neusilber. It's an alloy of copper, nickel and zinc but has no silver content unless plated with silver. Commonly used in the production of German medals during WWII.
