    Cockade help please.

    Hello,

I bought a small oil painting today and need some ID help on the uniform. Can anyone tell me which state the cockades belong to or anything else about it?

Can any of you read the signature?

I do have a book somewhere with all the state cockades but can’t find it and have had no luck on the internet either.

Thanks in advance for your help.

It seems like we are all in the same boat regarding the state cockade. I found my book with cockades in the end but none of them seem to match unless his one is blue yellow and red (starting from the middle), he could then be a dragoon but only if anyone agrees. His hat appears to be dark enough in colour, blue/black(?).

I think he could be an officer going by the high collar but can any of you say if the uniform is early or late war?

I suppose he could also be from a train battalion.

I think we have a Reich cockade (up) and a Hesse-Cassel cockade (down).
