Recently picked up this Lionhead Sabre with an interesting device on the langet. This is the crowne double FF of 'Friedrich Franz' (ruled from 1785-1815) of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, and it matches the device on the grip of an IOD 89 I have.
The blade is engraved with the usual military motives, but is rather faded. The blade is non-maker marked (I think), but the IOD is by Eickhorn.
