Kaiserlich Marine Lt's Ausweis. Mine Balt?

A buddy of mine just picked up this Ausweis, and asked me for help.

I have limited knowledge of the Imperial era.

    Some things I don't understand.

He is listed as an Oberleutant D.S. but appears to be wearing Army Field Gray uniform in the photo.

Also not wearing the Navy insignia on the visor hat.

Stationed in Cuxhaven with a Minenabteilung.

I found some information online translating this to a Mine Battalion.

The scan of the roster where he is listed shows a Jager 2 unit?

Also can't make out the word for his specialty. Others are listed as Doctor, teacher, engineer, etc. (First scan)

I'm hoping that some imperial collectors' can help with this ID card.

    Thanks in advance.

I can offer a little help. The officer is a Hauptmann d(er) L(andwehr) II. and has signed the ID in his own hand according to the wording. He is not identified on what you show here.

He is not a naval officer. My guess is that the naval markings on the Ausweis are due to his being assigned to an island defense. The navy would probably have the overall responsibility for the island. Many of the coastal defense units were fourth line units that had no combat value and were suitable only for garrisoning.
