                Stunning great to see this dying form of high art is still alive and well in this century. Would love to know if it was done with hand gravers or a motorised bur ???.

                  Yes, this is hand engraved using bulino techniques as well as deeper scroll cuts and other relief modelling.

                  The engraver is Lee Griffiths and this work won the best engraved pistol of the Firearms Engravers Guild in 2013.

                  This pistol as well as other examples of the engraver's art were on display at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico when we were there this past June.

                    Thanks for the kudos! Glad you guys like it. I was able to look at and photograph this magnificent pistol thru the help of the curator. My 'real' camera pics are much better than these cell phone images.
