Prussian Flag/Banner?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me more about this flag? The main question is what the lightning bolts in the claw of the eagle means. I've found a number of variations of this eagle but I can't find anything specific about this one. Any additional info would be appreciated.

The military version of the Prussian eagle sometimes has the lightning.

Thanks so much for your reply.

The link you provided was a Third Reich item so I'm not sure how that relates to the Prussian example. There was a note with the flag/banner that I posted a link to that said it was found in a loft in Luxembourg in 1918.

What I glean from this is that the one I showed might be Prussian military. Do you agree?

No idea if its original or not but

As stated the Prussiain eagle is often depicted with a wreath in the left talon and lightning bolts in the right one. For examples: your flag is the same design as the Prussian Order of the Black Eagle decoration and the same eagle design is also used as the central device on the beautiful Garde du Corps lobstertail helmets
