    1870 Vets and their medals

    I posted this photo many years ago and it still is one of my favorite pickups.
    Note the medal bar of the fellow second from the right. He has his Kaiser Wilhelm medal on the wrong ribbon. I've always wondered how medals got mixed up on some bars - this gave me a clue. All four appear to be Bavarian and were photographed in the 1920's.

    It looks like a Wurttemberg ribbon... or St. Michael (?!). Anyway wrong one as you have said...

          oops, right you are, second from the left. They all seem to have the Bavarian vets badge if my eye sight doesn't fail me.
