    ID Small Medal or Token

I have 4 small medals or tokens for Weinacht Im Feld for 1914, 15, 16 and 17. All by the artist K.G. and about the size of a nickel. Well struck in Bronze. What are they and do they have any value?

    Hi Ron,
They look to be commemorative 'coins' for Christmas in the trenches, may have been part of a Christmas aid package. Can't give any idea of value as not an item I have encountered on the market before. I do think they are something a little special though, nice find and thanks for sharing could you post a pic of all four please.

    Best,
    Scott

      Karl Goetz

They are part of a series of medals celebrating Christmas during the war years, produced by Karl Goetz.

Karl Xaver Goetz (* 28. June 1875 in Augsburg; † 8. September 1950 in Münich) was a German engraver, medallist.

Concerning price, Goetz is one of the finest engraver during that time, and great part of his medallistic works are greatly sought.
I could only find an example of a lot sold for EU $900, but that comprises several examples of the series, roughly EU$90 per medal, the link is below.

Forgot to mention, since his popularity, he is also heavily faked. No implying yours are, but something to have in mind.

        more info about him, here:
