    Please ID helmet plate

    I am not sure what this is, perhaps a helmet plate center? Note the 800 silver mark in the rear center. Thanks much all!

    I'm not aware of any helmet plates using the Iron Cross, so tend to think it's something that was put together. When and by whom I don't know.

    The cross however seems to be an authentic wearers copy, possible made by the Carl Dillenius firm.

    Might this bricolage be inteded to copy the Hindenburg star... ?

      Thanks, I too can find no reference to anything like it. The star has mounting blades like a helmet plate, so I wonder if that was used to make this, It shows much age and the iron cross has pitted. I wonder why this thing was made.
