Prussian Observer Badge no maker mark silver on brass?

This is part of a group of insignia that has been offered to me. It was photographed under less-than-ideal conditions. It has the tarnish of silver with some green verdigris from brass, so i assume it is silver over brass. There is no maker's mark I can find.

    Any thoughts?

I certainly like the look of the badge. Pity about the missing pin!

To me, the basemetal looks like steel or zinc, not tombak. Ask him to put a magnet on it. The hinge and pins for the chequered box may be tombak, just as there may be a copper component to the solder, which are the areas the verdigris is limited to.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

The pins that secure the observers bade to the front may be plated brass hence the green verdigris
