Luftschiffer Adam Schwarz, LSB4

Hi guys

Picked up this nice little grouping not too long ago. Luftschiffer Adam Schwarz was active in the Luftschiffer Bataillon 4. In the group there are his Soldbuch, Militärpass and many original private pictures.

Does anyone has exact information where this unit was active during the whole war?

Nice group.

The Luftschiffer-Bataillone were no front units during the war.
I'm prety sure that he was member of one of the Feldluftschiffer Abteilungen or Ballonzuzüge during the war. Look through the pass and you will find the unit he belonged.

Nope no battle info in there.

He only entered the army in april 1916. The script is extremely difficult to read and I can't scan the document properly without bending the paper. One entry in 1918 says "Feldluftschiffer"

You confirmed what Alex has said., that is, this man was in a Feldluftshifferabteilung, which would have been a normal unit designation for a Fesselballon unit.
