I have nothing vested in this particular medal nor do I have intentions of buying it. What I am interested in is my own edification (and to see if I am right).

To me the crown looks really odd, but the other folks looking at it seem to think it is OK. I don't like the new, orange rust either.

I also feel like this type has a specific name, but I can't think of it at the moment.

I think the name your looking for is 'MUFFIN' crown.
