Looks to me like a real period item from a veteran's organization. Not a real EK but as stated, an interesting commemorative/patriotic item. The quality and finishing are about what I would expect for an item from that era.

I've seen one other posted a long time ago. the opinion
at the time was it was some sort of a veteran's assoc pin.

Not sure if it was identical to this but it was very similar.

Looks like a 20 year comemorative medal from that town....pretty nice id say. Probably hung from a ribbon with writing stamped on it, and may have had a metal tinnie type ribbon top...where the pin was soldered....definitely nice even as it is..
