good ribbon ,,not a shred of a doubt ..
      Alf
this is a thread about a fake,,, so not my favorite to present originals and research results .

as is my willingness to present anything is down to -0 in general at the moment

you keep on asking collectors who are wider informed you will see .

,,,the clear fake nonetheless is indeed found often with such stitching as described ,, and how it falls apart on the top where it is cut ,,is also a indication its not a ribbon one would see as period..

in case of the 1870 ribbon ,,ask roter adler orden, krohnen orden and Hohenzollern order collectors what they found so far for that period.
as a throe 1870 ek ribbon technically dos not exist .

      regards kay

Thank you Kay for your reply.
        Please bear with me, am I understanding you correctly that this ribbon at this thread;
        http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=789816
could be correct pre 1870 period ribbon even that it has this kind of weaving.

To tell you the truth on a small search I found another one complete with an EK 1813 2nd class with a ribbon like it, but I thought that this is also a fake.
        Thank you
        Alf.

          the problem here is that,,,,
there is no real ribbon thread with conclusive research results of knowledgeable collectors cooperating .

all we have threads of what is to be thought to be fake and a lot of enlightened man who claim to know fake from good by having it in hand and the feel to it ,,

all very real and to be the only guideline we have so far
sadly it provides no realistic scientific based reality's due research ,,

send me a pm with you're mail ,,,i see if I can take pictures of the different examples for you .
maybe it helps to answer you question

          regards kay
