PLM - Meybauer

Just found this well worn and interestingly completely unmarked PLM. Typical Meybauer one sided piece from the 1930's. The hand fretting on this example is really nicely done and better than the cross I posted last year although on that one the overall condition was much nicer.

Hi Patrick,

Stephen Previtera shows an essentially identical, also unmarked and one-sided PlM on page 334 of Prussian Blue, attributed to Major Martin Otto (as you may know), and considers it a truly Godet-made version (as opposed to Meybauer). Godet appears to have introduced a single-strike, one piece, solid cross in 1918, having persisted up to then in using the same multi-part dies/construction since the 1860s. These single-sided types are formed from the obverse face of that circa 1918 die specifically. As you note, the Meybauer-marked versions do match, but the good news may be that this is a Godet
