Just found this rather strange silver wound badge for sale. Has anyone seen one like it before or have any opinion as to authenticity?

It would certainly seem that this type of pin setup is legit. What first struck me about this badge is that the edge is round and not cut to the shape of the laurel leaves, not something I've seen before.
