    Kampfwagen Abz. badge genuine?

This morning one of my coworkers who has been buying stuff for years and then salting it away for his retirement just dropped this heart stopper on my desk and asked me to see what my friends on the Wehrmacht Awards site think of it. This badge has a dark silver finish, hollow constuction and is 67.35mm tall and 45.5mm wide. No hallmarks and the pin is magnetic. It looks nice to me but I have never seen one of these in person before. Your impressions and opinions would be most appreciated. Thanks, Fred

The details are sharper than the scan shows so I'll try it again.

        Fred.

        I'm pretty sure that's a copy.

Does the back plate really look acned or is it just the photo?

Yes the back looks pretty rough and the front especially on the tank has moderate porosity. Is this a wearing copy or an outright fake? Any ideas as to what it could be worth. Thanks, Fred

              Fred.

Sorry, but this is an outright fake. It's worth about $20.

Thanks Robin, my friend wasn't too unhappy with the news. Fred
