    new arrived combined ribbon

    Hi Guys,

    I want to present You a new arrival;
it is a combined ribbon as used in very old times (1st half of the 19th Century) for a Miniature bar.
    It has:

    - a Hessen Kassel Order of the Golden Lion
    - a Russian Wladimir
    - I guess a French Legion of Honor / Military Merit / St.Louis
    - a Danish Dannebrog

From the 1st ribbon it has to somebody from the Hessen-Kassel Family.
My files do not go back so far. Can somebody help me to find the Guy in Kassel who might have had this Combo?

    Best regards

    Daniel

    Hey Daniel,

    That's pretty slick

How are those made.... all woven together or ???? I just can't believe that they would spend the time to weave them in one piece for a odd combination like that...

    Cheers
    Mark

      Hi Mark,

the ribbon is woven all together.
For that ancien miniature bars it was quite common.
I have some more from the Grand Dukes of Baden.
The good thing is, they actually needed just some inches of that ribbons but had to make about one Meter with their machines. Soooo always plenty of ribbon was useless and survived in whatever remainings stock to wait 150 years for a nowadays collector.

      Best regards

      Daniel
