I wonder how he felt in 1914 and especially 1917? This was acquired from the family. They said he passed away in 1927.

Nice grouping! Wonder if any photos of the original owner wearing some of these medals exist? The order of the 3 medals looks rather strange to me. Could they have been remounted by someone who wanted a more balanced look? Also could you scan the reverse of the other 3 vets medals? Thanks again for showing these. Fred

Thanks Guys for the kind comments, Florida is a wonderful place to find little groupings that pop up at the antique shops and flea markets. Sometimes I am really surprised at what shows up. A good friend of mine who lives in Tampa is one of the best "trackers" of militaria I have ever known. Lucky for me he seeks American and calls me on the German. You would not believe some of the stuff he has turned up in the American area: ie. Purple Heart for the charge up San Juan Hill 1898, D-Day Bronze Star, etc.

Fred, I am attaching pic of the reverse of the Vet medals as you requested. I also am showing the back of the official mounted group.

                          Best to all,

                          Bobby

Fred, Here is the reverse of the official bar. Note the special suspension loops especially for the Baden Campaign which has the wire suspension instead of the usual ring. All seems original and mounted as intended. Thanks for the questions.
