WWI Medals on women-bow - Rarities of common awards!

So you like my new scanner? OK! Here is the Women-Bow posting I promised some weeks ago:

The most common is the Prussian Red Cross Medal 3. class. This one is a late prodution made of zinc.

EKII 1914 on a COMBATANT-women-bow !!! Maybe for a brave nurse who rescued or cared for wounded under fire?

Braunschweig War Merit Cross on non-combatant women-bow.

    Oldenburg Friedrich-August Cross on non-combatant women-bow.

Both are very rare, especially the Braunschweig cross with about 7000 - 8000 awards at all (com.+non-com.) But how much went to women? Who knows...

Yes, they awarded them to women too in WWI. In the book "Das Eiserne Kreuz 1813-1957" from Harald Geißler they write about nurses who got the cross, even for combat-service. For example there was a nurse who assisted her doctor during surgery in a church which was under heavy french artillery fire. There were also nurses who rescued wounded solderis under enemy fire and got the Iron Cross 1914.

Apparently the bow wasn't just reserved for women. Somewhere I have a wedding photo with the groom wearing his EK on a bow.

Tom, usually they folded the ribbon to something like a bow in the buttonhole for such pictures (I know the pic, it was from me). But this bow with a pinback should be for a woman.
