    Help ID maker EKII 1914

Hello, asking your kind help IDing the maker of this EKII, I just received.
Has a strange mark similar to a 9 or 6, too rigid to believe it is a G.
I am pretty sure some of you guys will be able to ID it.
Thanks a lot in advance and choose to have a great day!

Has anyone seen such a mark before or bad striked mark on ring?
I am not very well versed on EKIIs so I have to rely on your opinions.
      Thanks again.

It must be a mis-strike. It is certainly not a mark
        I have seen before.

Thank you Greg, can you ID cross maker based on core?
          Thank you all,

            Hi Vellocino

It looks like a bad strike of maker 'R' to me.

Compare the mark to this thread:

The core appears to be quite different so I am very curious to know if your cross has the extra mark on the jump ring.

              Markings on jumpring, Thx

There are some ancillary marks at the base of the jumpring, looking like T with some imagination, and a second line above the T, but this could be my eyes tricking me into see a T, here it is a picture that I hope can show this. But certainly the mis-striked mark on the ring looks like the R mark on your threading EKII.
I sincerely appreciate your input and hope this will attracts more opinions from others knowledgeable fellow members.
              Thanks again,

                Greetings Vellocino,
From the photos it looks like it's an "R " cross with a backwards "R" marking IMO. Check it against the Rs it the data base.
                Regards,
                Scott

Thanks, Matt, Greg and Scott, it seem plausible, now to verify this by checking cores in the database.
Thanks again to all of you for your time and opinions.
                  Have a good week!

Just keep in mind there may be more than one core used by the maker.

If you do find a match to the core (and you will) then post back here with your findings.

Only checking frames can really help you find this maker.

This (and almost every 1914) core was used by many makers, including Z, G, ED, KAG, N, S-W, We, JHW, WILM. There are without doubt others; these are only the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Some EKs are not really attributable without a lot of hard eye-work on the frame, and even then we really don't know. If makers swapped cores so much, why not frames, too?

All that said, I would start to compare the frame to R as Scott and others suggested.
                      Best regards,
