1870 EK2 (with "25" oaks spange) ribbon bar

Hi guys, I've been offered this in a grouping. A little out of my league. I'm trying to put a price together. Could someone pm me a realistic idea of what these are selling for? I only have the pic of the obverse.

To me it looks like a very nice original bar.

The EK2 is a later type made probably in the 20th C., and the KDM is also not an award piece. These two issues affect the value just a little. Also, the felt backing of the bar, along with any label it may have had, has been cut off or disintegrated over time. This also hurts it. But it's all original, which helps it.

I would pay $550-625 for this bar as a collector because of the few issues.
          Best regards,

            interesting ,, I would almost say a 1914/1930's wide frame .
not sure ,,but looking at this I would suspect it to be so .

unfortunately you're got no better pictures .

            I like the bar.

            ,,price,,, well ,,,
            if someone wanted a 1914/1930's frame with such a 1870 core ,
and you can proof it is such a combo ,,,price could be higher .

            regards kay

What does KDM stand for? Is it the second or third medal on the bar?

The KDM is the war service medal. It's the middle medal with the campaign bars. The other medal is the Kaiser Centennial Medal from 1897.

That is a very nice medal bar!

If you add up the single "dealer value" of the medals you are in

                  $500-550 for the ek2;
                  $100 for the oaks
                  $25 KDM
                  $15 for the remembrance medal
                  $25 per bar... (x4)

so I see an around + $750 bar.

                  Best regards,
                  Michel
