    Opinions on EK1 1914

Hello, I bought this EK1 1914 from Detlev Niemann and now some people say it´s maybe a fake. Now I would like som more opinions on this cross:

    Hi Zenden,

I think your 1914 EK1 is probably original but was probably produced in the 1930s, not during WW1. This is the type with the hinge/pin/catch assembly more commonly found on SA Sports Badges. There are other apparently genuine badges & crosses with this type of hinge/pin/catch assembly known as well - 1939 EK1s, Spanish Crosses, some Spanish (or 1939 First Pattern) Wound Badges, etc. Your example looks like it MAY have been cleaned and the black repainted, but that's about the only question mark I'd put on it. It's not a common example, but I don't think it's a repro.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!
