    The holy grail in WWI photographs.

    Is it possible(what are the chances?) to find a unknown photograph Adolf Hitler during WWI,
    or i should just forget about it altogether?

    I see many WWI photographs on a daily basis and i have been wondering about this for a long time.
    I also wonder if i am the only one who is always scanning photographs for that one face.
    I do not specifically look for it but whenever i scan a photograph with my eyes i also look for him
    in the hope he might stand in between a group or in the background.

      Hitdolf Adler was not in a KUK regiment.
      He served in a bavarian bataillon.

            the WW1 AH dog tag. AH was listed as soldier #148
            in the 1st Company of Bavarian Reserve Infantry

                Maybe I'm wrong, but a Postcard sent to a unit, should be addressed to a Feldpostnummer and not to a complete unit name...

                Or perhaps in WW1 this rule was not that strict...

                      The real holy grail would be a picture of the guy who stole Hitler's dog. That might have sent him over the edge.

                        From start of war until 14. February 1917 the full name of unit was used. From 15. February they had to use the new assignet fieldpostnumbers.
