    PLM opinions

Had this in the wrong forum this morning, anybody care to comment about it? It was stated in the other thread that this could be a 60's era copy. If so it looks like a nice one, the enamel is raised as opposed to flat and the eagles have more detail.

I would say a bit later--nice copy, though. Even from these photos you can see the eagles don't have feet or much detail when compared to an original or early copy. Still much nicer than the ones you find today!

      PLM on Ebay

Does anyone have any idea who may have made this piece?

It doesn't look bad from a distance. I'm looking for a good copy for a friend who is nuts on WWI German aviators and wants to dress up a uniform tunic.

      Thanks.

EDIT: Sorry Charlie, I'm about brain dead and was going to start a new thread.
BTW, is the one you showed yours? I don't want to spend a lot of money, I just wanted to surprise him with something somewhat realistic.

If you are looking for it in terms of custome, buy it.

It is realistic. the comment concerning the feet is 100% accurate. A 60’s repro? I could not date it with that accuracy, but of course it is post-war. I like the baroque loop and smooth, non-chased lettering. that gives it a delicate edge toward authenticity that would fit well with a uniform display. I have seen the exact same model passed-off as original sorry to say. The color of the enamel is pleasing as well.

Good Morning Stephen and thanks for your comments, when I saw it I felt the same way plus I haven't seen many copies with the high enamel.
It's nice to see that you poke around the Imperial forum as well
          Thanks

That a nice piece, the one I'm showing is one that is floating around out in auction land.
