Looks to be what they call a "Broom Handle Mauser" . They came in two calibers, a 9mm and another caliber

The other caliber is 7.63(30 Mauser). I agree that's a great picture.

To tell the difference between the 9mm and the 7.63mm is there is a large 9 on each side of the handles of the 9mm version
