I agree, possibly even 40s. From the hardware, maybe Godet, Zimmermann or Deumer.

I specifically said "...possibly even 40s. FROM THE HARDWARE, MAYBE Godet, Zimmermann or Deumer".

I am not sure what is so unclear in that line that needs questioning?

Based on design, you are correct, not Deumer, "Schott", S&L or Meybauer. Possibly AWS/Juncker (speculation) based on hardware from at least one other example with a forward "double snorkel";

Hi Guys,

I just stumbled across this fascinating thread. Indeed as Mike pointed out both this badge and the example in the other thread to which Mike provided the link have typical Juncker setups.

The simple barrel hinge was used on the Juncker wartime U-Boat badge and indeed was the only wartime U-boat badge to feature that hinge. You see the same two pin types on both the Juncker wartime U-boat badge and the EK1 Spange. And in both cases they're combined with the same round wire catch with that slanted cutting of the ends so typically seen on Juncker badges.

I really think you've discovered the Juncker Imperial U-boat badge here.

Wow, looking back to 2002 I see an old posting by the late Rick Research of the same type of U-Boat badge (it's sad to see Rick's postings).

The pin on this one shows the typical two-tone look as the WW2 Juncker U-boat.

And Marc even showed a zinc version of the same design which shows a typical Juncker-like zinc setup.

It would seem this "double snorkel" design was produced by Juncker well into the WW2 era.

Yes, I've been wondering about that one as well. Perhaps we're seeing here the difference between Juncker's early production and their WW2 era production?
