EK2 with brass frame?

Hello,
I bought this EK2 a few days ago and wanted to get the opinions of the EK experts on it. I looked at a few threads on these, but all I could find in the few minutes I had were the one piece ones that are considered by many to be theatrical or souvenir pieces. This one is three piece. The beading appears to be brass that never had any finish applied over it, while the corners of the frames where the finish has worn also have a brassy finish. The core is also odd to me. It doesn't have any brass highlights on the front, though in a couple of places where the paint has worn it has a reddish copper color. On the reverse, however, there are brass highlights to some of the high points on the crown and leaves. The ring is unmarked.

I will leave the identification to the experts but it seems like a huge undertaking to make such a detailed three piece cross only for a theatrical or souvenir reasons.

I believe your cross is made of Tombac ( a form of brass) and
then were very lightly silver plated. These crosses are thought to be of 1920's/30's production.

I have a first class version that still has some of it's silver plating
and shows brass through the worn high spots.

You show a perfectely good wearers copy, probably from the 1930s, with a four part construction: not only the frame is made of two hollow halves, but also the core is.

I think the frame was silvered and is just worn or polished of.

Besides one very odd styled cross (the one with very small oak leaves), none of the one piece types are believed to be theatrical or souvenir pieces by many, but just by very few. Dozens, if not hundereds of inter-war groups are know to contain these replacement crosses.

Are not these made by Deumer?

Thanks guys, I'm glad to find it's original no matter when it was made. The brass/tombak was so different from the standard EK that I just had to have it when I saw it. Interesting to hear that the core is two pieces as I had never heard of this before.
