    This may not be a fair test, but I convert your ribbon bar to grayscale. The one in the picture I submitted has much more contrast.

      Very well explained, thanks! I totally agree: yellow ribbons tend to look quite dark on old photographs.

      This must be the FAM ribbon. Likely the silver one, but if he received it yet as an EM, could as well be one in bronze.
