Trying to build an Iron Cross Collection!

    Hi Everyone!
As the title of this topic, i'd like to ask you what you think about my few pieces, because in Italy i don't know anyone that can give me an authoritative opinion! Thanks!

    1) A First Class iron Cross 1914

The 44mm wide convex cross, 2 piece type, with iron core centre, ribbed frame and sharp edge points. It's unmarked. Opinions??

More to come (must make the photos!!!)
    Kind regards
    See you soon
    Mathias

    Hello

It is an original Deumer with one of the many styles of hinge that they used. It might be marked 800 silver somewhere. Mine is but so light that you can barely see it.

Oh well, thanks a lot for your kindness, much appreciated!

I'd like to show you two pieces that i'd like to pick up:

        1914 second class iron cross:

        Marked, but I can't see....

        second type:

Non combatant version, Marked KO on the ring.

What do you think??? Can I buy them carefully? Wait your reply and thanks for your attention and for your precious advises!

        Best regards

the non combat ribbon is not a period one ,,,
the case the cross is in,, I would have a closer look ,,but so far I think its not ok

the other ek2 I am not sure about ,,,it could be a 1940's/ 1957's example of the 1914 cross ,,,,,,,,,,,or a complete ( good ) fake .
I have not seen it being discussed before on this forum ,,

would like to see what other saying about it .

          regards kay

Thanks a lot!!! So the cross seems genuine but the case and the ribbon seems not.

                  Greetings Mathias,

The non combatant ribbon looks very much a modern copy, but the KO cross looks fine.

The other one is however a new cross for me, don't remember that crown design but do recall something similar a month or so back the was being sold on Ebay as part of a bulk find. Similar crown design with the same narrow type wide spaced "W".

Thanks so much for your every opinions and advice
I decide to skip these two crosses but i'd still like to have a second class of iron cross from 1914's period...so can I put some photos for show them at your attention? Hope so!

What do you think about that? Sorry but i have not better photos...

I'ts Marked CD on the ring. It seems made by a producer from Brunswick.
                    Wait for your precious replys!

Well, if it was manufactured by Carl Dillenius from Pforzheim, that would be Baden Wuerttemberg now not Braunschweig... so maybe the case is not a matching set.

This EK1 is not Deumer. It has a chance to be from H. Timm, Berlin. Anyway it is a rare cross!

the non combatant ribbon looks new.

the 1st classes are very nice ones.

Carl Dillenius is still existing. the company is named now "cadi" pforzheim
pforzheim is a town in baden.

Very interesting! When I first posted my cross I was told it was a Deumer.
